Necklace layering is one of the easiest ways to elevate a simple outfit — if you follow a few basic rules.
Start with three chains of varying lengths — a choker, a mid-length piece, and a longer pendant — so each one has room to breathe. Mix textures (a delicate chain with a chunkier link) rather than three identical styles, and keep metals consistent unless you're confident mixing gold and silver.
If in doubt, start with two pieces before building up to three or four — it's far easier to add than to take away.
